#Barchapa township on the north-eastern border of Manohardi upazila of present Narsingdi district. A union rich in education, culture and nature. Consisting of 19 mouzas, this township was once under Raipura police station. When Manohardi Thana was established in 1904 for administrative convenience during the British period, #বাচাপা was subordinated to it.
There are many legends and historical research about the naming of this ancient town situated in the basin of Andial Khan and Brahmaputra rivers. However, in terms of the development of riverside civilization in geographical location and data analysis, when the Aryan civilization developed in India in ancient times, the Aryans, Dravidians and other poor peoples settled on the riverbanks or different grazing areas of the plains.
In this regard, the name of Barachapa Union, which is well formed in various villages and chars of the township, is quite acceptable. For example - Char Krishnapur, Chartarakandi, moreover, different names are created depending on the time and period of population destruction. Namely - Noa Nagar, Brahmaner Gaon, Kanhet Gaon, Jamalpur, Birmaizdia and other Puri and Gaon groups.
At the same time, the naming of some areas after influential Hindu royalty in determining the location of the land, type of soil and population settlement bears witness to it. Eg – Kalida Kona, Vrammanan Vita, Chanditala, Balla, Atushal, Aloyakandi.
The combination of alluvial soil, sandy soil and ash soil along the rivers and islands, the abundance of #Chapa flowers in the beauty of the nomadic class suggest a rich township over time, so many people think that the name of the township is apt.
The renaissance of Islam took place in this township when it was ruled by Hindu kings locally in the early stages of culture and with the contribution of Muslim leaders in various religious movements including Shah Irani and Jain Pur and Haji Shariat Ullah, Persian preachers. In this way, the influence of the religious culture of Islam became stronger in these areas.
In the evolution of time, the beauty of the town cherished by the tradition of large and different types of Champa flowers - sweetness is the charm of the learned people of that time and today's traditional rich Champa >> Barchapa has climbed the ladder of popular opinion.
We are remembering our forefathers whose contribution we are today as proud citizens of #बारच़ापा by transforming those pressed flower trees that were lost in the mechanical drum.
